The grounds of the European part of the Russian Federation for many years home to five species of deer elk, three subspecies of red deer (European deer, red deer, red deer), sika deer, Siberian and European roe deer, which are the type of power similar to the white-tailed deer. Given that the quality of our land in the vast majority of low and estimated 4th quality class (remember that the 1st class – the highest), and ecological niches is almost full, the introduction of a new type of competitor will lead to the exacerbation of inter-species relationships, and disappearance in end of one or two indigenous species (most likely, deer). Introduction of new species of animals entails not only a change in the relationship between the species, but also drift into new habitats and the transmission of micro-organisms and parasites of other species.
In its natural habitat, in America, white-tailed deer in a whole bunch of exotic diseases such as leptospirosis, California encephalitis, Lyme disease, epizootic hemorrhagic deer disease, tuberculosis, hemolytic uremic syndrome, babesiosis and so forth.
Some of these diseases are dangerous to humans. In 2001, the death of white-tailed deer in some states in the US anthrax was 80% of the total population. The appearance of new species in the biocenosis as a host would break the already existing system of “parasite – host”, causing a flash of new epizootic diseases and infestations, as among our agents will take place mutations and other changes to adapt them to the new object.
Analyzing the experience of the past activities on the introduction of animals, starting with the 30-ies of the last century to the present day, we, unfortunately, did not find a single positive result only unfavorable. All these initiatives were carried out without proper evidence-based research and development of long-term environmental projections.
Attempt delivery whitetail deer in the Russian Federation does not obviate the ASF.
White-tailed deer are not replaced in the biocenosis boar, as these animals occupy different ecological niches.
The natural complexes worsen interspecific competitive relationships that will lead eventually to the disappearance of some indigenous species.
It may occur delivery of a variety of new exotic diseases of animals and humans (most likely will), which will lead to the appearance of new lesions and epizootic diseases that are dangerous for humans and animals.
The increase in the number of new species to the commercial level will be slow and will require substantial economic costs.
Judging by the publications on the Internet, delivery of whitetail deer in the territory of the Russian Federation was held, as always, with violations. There is a violation of Federal law from 17.02.1995, the number 16 of the Federal Law and failure to perform its direct supervisory duties from the relevant supervisory authorities.
In general, all these actions have their name – biological contamination.
